There are countless benefits of eating raw…
health, spiritual, mental and of course environmental.

Environmental Reasons:
Organic foods (no pesticides/chemicals polluting the earth or your body)
Less packaging (saves resources)
No need for lots of preparation or clean up so you save resources/power
Feel more connected to the environment when eating healthier foods in natural state
Helps heal the body, keep body in good health
Less waste
Doesn’t waste resources, food in animal agriculture (waste of land, water, fertilizer, and other resources that could otherwise be used for producing human food)
Reduces the waste, pollution, and deforestation caused by mass raising of animals
There are many other reasons…but going vegetarian or vegan or going raw are some of the best ways to help the environment as well as yourself.

I want to introduce a new book called “Smoothies for Optimum Health“.

The concept is cool.
It’s a raw food smoothie recipe book with an interesting twist.
Kevin Gianni of www.RenegadeHealth.com didn’t just write a bunch of recipes,
he asked over 20 leading health experts what their favorite smoothies were, tested them
and now has compiled them into a book of over 165 great tasting recipes.
Now you can find out what Victoria Boutenko, Doug Graham, Ani Phyo, Mike Adams, David Wolfe, Angela Stokes and more, blend up in their Vitamix when they’re in need for a meal or a quick snack!
The book is available now and you can read more about what’s included on this page…
here
It’s a also a great gift for a friend or family member who may want to be healthier
but just don’t know where to start…
So, get yours now here!
PS. The book also includes a whole bunch of
educational information as well, such as
which blender is best to use, how to combine
certain foods and more.
All the recipes are also 100% gluten-free,
100% dairy-free, and 99.9% raw and living
foods.

If you simply must have your soda, at least make your own so you can save on resources that are used to make all those soda bottles & cans, get them to you…a lot of waste.
The environmental benefits are:
reduces energy used to make and distribute soda cans & bottles
it doesn’t use electric or batteries
it eliminates the need for bottles/cans totally
…so less waste, less pollution all around.
Plus, no more lugging cases of soda from the store!
Only pennies per serving when you make your own.
The Penguin is the first and only drinks maker with glass carafes; It’s an eye catcher in every kitchen and dining room. Among the Penguin features are: customized carbonation level, easy to clean, automatic access gas release mechanism and minimal space usage on counter tops.

SodaStream Penguin Deluxe Home Soda Maker
The Penguin Home Soda Maker easily produces sparkling water and soda in seconds– eliminating the need to carry, store and dispose of bottles and cans. It uses a carbonator and glass carafe reducing electricity and waste. Makes sparkling water or soda. Very Easy!
You can also add fruit juice to make your own fizzy fruit drinks! mmmm mmmm good
If you’re interested in a bargain on the soda machine, I have a brand new one still in box complete with 20 assorted mixes from sodastream.
I personally am not a big fan of the mixes since they are made with a sugar and Splenda mix. I don’t allow Splenda in my home nor promote it; however, others aren’t as ’strict’ as I am and have no problem using it.
The normal retail value of just the SodaStream Penguin Deluxe Home Soda Maker by itself is $200 plus shipping.
The SodaMix flavors are available in economy sized bottles. Each bottle of concentrated SodaMix contains enough syrup to make about 12 liters of fresh, delicious soda. Normal retail varies but averages $4.99 each
I am selling a brand new in box SodaStream Penguin Deluxe Home Soda Maker AND 20 assorted SodaMix flavors in bottles for $200 which includes shipping (which averages about $60 due to weight)
If interested, email me.
I accept all credit cards as well as PayPal.
So, you’ll get a great deal and help the environment as well.

Go meatless for even a day to help the environment (as well as yourself).

Even if you give up meat for a day or a few days a week it makes a difference…
difference in your health and in the environment.
You’re probably saying that you can’t possibly do that…your kids…your husband…your family…whatever won’t go for it. It’s not that difficult to do without. Try one day a week, then move to a couple days of week….
You can get some vegetarian recipes at these sites:
VegWeb.com

Want more information on how to be vegetarian or vegan?
Visit GoVeg.com
Pledge to be veg for 30 days here. There’s a video “Chew on this” on that page as well. It’s only 3 minutes but it’s graphic not as graphic as many others but want to give a heads up.
It tells about the benefits and shows some animal cruelty, how animals are slaughtered.
I wish I could find a video that also captured the environmental benefits of not eating meat but haven’t yet as well as video that explains the benefits/differences in eating factory farmed animal and local, free range fed but haven’t been able to locate that yet.
You can read some environmental vegetarianism information on Wikipedia to get some more insight.
You could also visit TheMeatrix.com which has animated videos showing the dark side of the dairy industry.

If you’re local in South Florida (Pembroke Pines area), I do a vegan cooking demo the first Tuesday of the month at Nutrition S’Mart on the SW corner of Pines/Flamingo at 7 pm

Buy local food.
If possible, buy local & organic food.
Though some local food may be organic but just doesn’t have the required certification to be recognized as such, so check into that.
They say that some of our USA grown produce will travel 1500 miles to reach your area store!
Do the math: one gallon of gas creates 20 pounds of carbon dioxide.
So you can see how much damage can be done and that’s for US food, not even the imported produce!
Don’t know where to buy locally?
Check out Local Harvest’s web site for more information.

If you want a great natural way to clean your produce simply use water and white vinegar.

A few squirts on fruits & veggies gets rid of pesticide residue (if you’re not buying organic), dirt, etc…
Researchers found that a diluted vinegar rinse kills 98% of bacteria on produce.
It’s cheap! Water and vinegar are much cheaper than store bought washes.
How to:
Get a spray bottle
Mix water to white vinegar 3:1 in spray bottle
Spray the produce
Rinse with water after you spray
Easy enough?

Besides the health benefits of eating raw there are environmental benefits too.
Just a few simple “no brainer” benefits:
1)no energy spent on cooking, heating up a house with the heat from the oven
2)not a lot of clean up after preparations so not as much water/energy spent washing dishes
3)dehydrators and use of Vitamix use less energy than cooking appliances
These are just 3 simple benefits directly related to you and your home and eating raw foods over Standard American Diet.
